JUDITH E. COKER
BIOGRAPHY
Judith E. Coker comes to Diefer Law after years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis on employment law, insurance defense, insurance coverage issues, contracts, real estate, and personal injury litigation. Ms. Coker also worked as a Staff Attorney at the San Diego Superior Court for many years, where she counseled court participants regarding all aspects of small claims litigation including trial preparation, small claims procedure, collections, appellate procedure, and statutes of limitations. Ms. Coker served as a frequent speaker on Small Claims Law and represented the court at various State Bar conferences, community meetings, and in media appearances.
EDUCATION
During her tenure at the University of California Hastings College of the Law (now UC College of the Law, San Francisco), Ms. Coker participated in and taught moot court, was a technical editor for Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly, externed for the criminal division of the San Francisco Superior Court, and interned at California Attorney General’s appellate division in San Diego. Prior to attending Hastings, Ms. Coker received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in Political Science and minored in French and Spanish Literature. Subsequent extensive travel and living in Mexico enhanced her fluency in Spanish.
Rounding out her varied experience, Ms. Coker has also been a licensed real estate broker for over 20 years with the goal of increasing homeownership for all. In her spare time, Judith enjoys spending time with her diverse group of friends and family, exploring her Pt. Loma neighborhood and creating art. Most of all, she enjoys time walking her beloved Clementina on the La Playa path.
