La gran mayor\u00eda de estos trabajadores est\u00e1n comprometidos a cumplir con sus responsabilidades laborales de la mejor manera posible, seg\u00fan lo requerido por sus empleadores. Desafortunadamente, algunos encuentran que las acciones ilegales, incluyendo <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/workplace-sexual-harassment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discriminaci\u00f3n sexual<\/a>puede dificultarles la tarea.<\/p>\n<p>Para muchos trabajadores, la discriminaci\u00f3n sexual adopta la forma de acoso sexual. Este comportamiento infringe la legislaci\u00f3n estatal y federal, concretamente la Ley de Igualdad de Vivienda y Empleo de California y el T\u00edtulo VII de la Ley de Derechos Civiles de 1964, respectivamente. Por desgracia, quienes son v\u00edctimas de este tipo de comportamiento a menudo no saben c\u00f3mo responder. Los primeros pasos son revisar la pol\u00edtica de la empresa en relaci\u00f3n con el acoso sexual y responder como se indica y crear un registro escrito del comportamiento en cuesti\u00f3n, incluyendo detalles sobre el incidente, as\u00ed como la fecha y hora en que se produjo. Denunciar el comportamiento al empleador es un paso esencial del proceso, ya que no hacerlo podr\u00eda inhibir la b\u00fasqueda de ciertos remedios.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n se puede presentar una denuncia ante la Comisi\u00f3n para la Igualdad de Oportunidades en el Empleo (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), un organismo federal, o ante el Departamento de Empleo Justo y Vivienda (Department of Fair Employment and Housing), un organismo estatal. El empresario puede entonces responder; si la respuesta no es satisfactoria o si se determina que se ha infringido la legislaci\u00f3n californiana o federal, el caso se remitir\u00e1 a mediaci\u00f3n.
